Laraine Spector is a commercial real estate broker and consultant. Since joining Ann Anovitz Associates in 2017, she has focused on the Chicago area, especially the city and its nearby suburbs. Her portfolio includes sales, leasing, and investment in retail, office, and special-use properties. Of particular interest to her is the restaurant industry where she represents both buyers and sellers of restaurant properties. Born and raised in New York City, Laraine has lived in Chicago for several decades and has grown to appreciate its vibrancy and diverse cultural scene. With advanced graduate degrees in city planning and business from the University of North Carolina and University of Chicago, respectively, and professional experience in both of these areas, her passion for real estate is a natural extension of that background. Prior to joining Ann Anovitz Associates, Laraine was affiliated with several of Chicago’s large brokerage firms. Prior to that, she was a marketing executive specializing in strategy, branding, and consumer data analysis. Additionally, she spent 5 years as a city planner at the Chicago Area Transportation Study where she used demographic and consumer data to predict changing population needs and their impact on land use and transportation needs. Fluent in French and an avid traveler, she spent several years studying and working abroad in France and Italy.
